    • Factory vs. Independent Nurburgring testing - Sport Auto gets 7:07.99 Nordschleife laptime from the Lamborghini Huracán Performante

Remember when Lamborghini set a time so fast around the Nurburgring with the Huracan Performante that the internet accused them of cheating? BoostAddict.com remembers. Lamborghini provided data and video evidence they did not cheat.

Sport Auto recently tested the Lamborghini Huracan Performance and they could not even get within 15 seconds of the factory test time of 6:52.01.

What does this tell us? Well, it does not exactly absolve Lamborghini of cheating as who knows if they had a 'special' motor for their Nurburgring car.

It does show that independent testing and factory testing are two very different things with two very different results. You will never see an independent time every top a factory record outing.

Good points. But remember that Sport Auto were also 11sec off the Porsche GT2 RS factory Ring effort (6:58 vs 6:47). And let’s be honest here, they’re probably better Porsche drivers too. 15 sec difference sounds about right.

Factory drivers also go way more balls out than a magazine trying not to mash up an expensive bit of kit.

Still bonkers fast. Side-by-side to the factory video you can see errors. Lots of early braking and fighting slides. The factory driver was fearless.
