    • Motorsport Magazine Porsche 911 GT2 RS, McLaren 720S, and Lamborghini Huracan Performante comparison test

Excuse the French please but we'll take what we can get when it comes to comparing these three superstars. The Porsche 911 GT2 RS as you well know is the current Nurburgring champion taking the laptime record from the Lamborghini Huracan Performante.

The McLaren 720S is hardly a slouch around the track but we do not have Nurburgring times for it. Additionally, in a German comparison the GT2 RS came out ahead of the 720S around the track.

This time around the 720S vanquishes both the GT2 RS and the Huracan Performante around the track:

This is on the French Magny-Cours GP circuit but still the 720S easily wins and maybe it is due to changing to Trofeo R tires:

      720S: 1:16.80
      Performante: 1.17:17
      GT2 RS: 1:17.36

The Nurburgring conquering Porsche brings up the rear.

The 720S of course is the fastest in a straight line and also the lightest:

      Weight:

      720S 3198
      GT2 RS 3340
      Performante 3364

      400 Meters:

      720 S 10.3 @ 146.44
      GT2 RS 10.5 @ 140.43
      Performante 10.6 @ 134.83

As stated BoostAddict does not speak French but they pick the 720S as the best car followed by the Lamborghini Huracan Performante. In this particular test, the GT2 RS comes up last.

Translated to English : What the headline suggests is the 720S dominated on the small and large curves(magny-cours) as well as the straightaway(lurcy-Levis).

They also mentioned the GT2’s behaviour was brutal, the huracan exciting and all-heart, the 720s relaxed - versatile but effective...

A white 720S just drove past me...a massive improvement in sound & looks compared to the old 12C cars, but...still not quite as dramatic as the other two.

The McLaren’s advantage seems to come almost entirely from its straight line speed. The fact that the Huracan, which weighs a decent bit more and might be down as much as 200 hp and tq still manages to come within a half second is just incredible, that car is truly something else, what they’ve accomplished with that is almost beyond belief.

Just for fun, would love to see how a new GT3 RS compares, might not be all that far off either, obviously losing mostly in a straight line.

The tighter the track the better for the GT3 RS.

Give me the high reving v10. I’m so tired of every sports car being turbocharged, I understand it’s for emissions and easy power. There’s just something so pure with a NA high reving motor.

I'm disappointed in their track result that the .2 CS lost against M4 CS and M3 Track Comp. Not a surprise behind the Cayman S.
